RECORDIN'

Greet-angs,

We've been all shacked up @ The Gradwell House in the Haddon area for most of the past month. When we aren't recording, our nights are usually filled with rehearsing the new jams or taking nightly trips to Starbucks for coffee, smoke breaks, and tea(or because Joe has a giant crush on the staff). Anyhow, back to the EP. EP number two (not the title, just a fact (jack)). The drums are all complete. They sound great, mainly because I am a great drummer and because Steve is great at recording drums. Seriously, mostly because of me though. A bunch of the guitars are done. The string section is doing a fine job (ESP DUSTIN). Joe took a bunch of pictures at the studio last night for his photography class. We'll probably post a whole bunch on here when the film gets developed (who uses film cameras anymore?). One of these nights, I'd like to get a video of Steve and Carmen slapping each other. It's really great. We've eaten Chinese for the past two nights...our stomachs are barely hangin' in. Yiiiiiiiiikes.

Signed, sealed, and delivered.

DAN BOGAN.

young wild'n free

Tour was so much more than we could have expected, the reception we received was amazing, and the shows were some of the best we have ever played. Thanks to all the people who purchased our records, listened to our set, bought a shirt, or even just talked to one of us at the show. We met some great people in some really cool bands along the way and saw a ton of old friends.

Just to update, Neil broke his wrist and had to have surgery, he has a screw in there and is recovering now, but we won't be able to do anything live until late fall/winter. However, we are going into the studio this week to begin some work on an EP that we are going to release later this year. We will be recording with Steve and Dave of Up Up Down Down at their studio, the Gradwell House. UUDD actually played their final show last night and we all were lucky enough to be there, those guys have been such a huge influences and mentors to us throughout our time as a band, its sad to see UUDD over, but i'm sure whatever they do next will be great.

Also, for any of you that don't know, joe has a little thing on the side, Miracle 1993, for which he recorded an amazing version "Autumn Eyes", a song from our best friends in The Fifteenth. The song is great, and its available for download free if you go to the myspace which is: http://www.myspace.com/miraclenineteen93

Go download that song, show it to all your friends and get excited for our new EP!

So many things have gone on since we last wrote on this thing!

We had a great time Bloomington, IN. Thank you so much to Erica for having us, the laundry room was great, the bagels were great, the naps were great, we will be back soon for sure! Also we can't forget our new friends we made in Stereo Deluxe, and of course Cassie who was nice enough to drive all the way from Chicago to give Joe and I free haircuts!

A few nights ago in Nashville we also had a chance to see a good friend in Jeff Miller. He always plays amazing and has become one of our closest friends we have ever made through this band. We walked around downtown Nashville which was great, saw plenty of Elvis and Johnny Cash, and ate these weird sandwiches that had cole slaw all over them.

After that we immediately headed to Orlando where we have our home base set up for the next few nights we're in Florida. We ran around Disney on Monday with our friend Danny, went on every good ride in 4 different parks, which took all night. It was tiring but very well worth it.

Last night we played in Jacksonville at Jack Rabbits, which was a good time. We made some new friends in The Kung Fu Girlz and the Arteffects. Also, thanks to Amanda and Caitlin for coming out and hanging with us! I have some pictures of the past few days posted below, everything has been great so far.

We have 5 shows left on this tour, starting with Ocala tonight, woohoooo

We've been craaaaazy busy lately and haven't had time to do any blog posts! Right now were driving through a state emergency in Iowa trying to find a way back into Illinois so I have some time to give some updates on the band. The tour so far has been awesome aside from the crazy storms we've run into here in Iowa and some annoying van problems. We made some new friends playing in Chicago, two bands called Tokyo and The House Floor, we will be playing with them this July in New Jersey which should be a great show. Also another exciting announcement for the band is that we will be working with Chuck Daley and Beartrap PR, we are all so ecstatic to have a person on board like Chuck to help us. You can check out Beartrap and the other amazing bands they work with at www.beartrappr.com

Anyway, this flooding is insane, water levels are rising so high that they are flooding huge bridges. We took a few pictures while we were stopped, which I will post as soon as I can get to a computer and off this stupid phone. Rockford tomorrow, come visit us

PLANS

So... "relax" mode has turned into a good month and a half now for us. We have all been hitting the books and knocking around college - eagerly awaiting spring break. We have some very exciting plans coming up in the next few weeks. This upcoming week, we will begin writing for an internet-based EP that will be ready for release sometime in the summer. Recording begins in march and we couldn't be more excited. We'll be converting our "official" dot com website into a recording blog filled with pictures, videos, and fun little updates that follow the whole writing / recording aspect of our band. I know it may seem a little strange that we are writing / releasing new music only a few months after our debut full length, but we couldn't wait any longer to start putting together new music. so deal with it!

Wednesday, January 30, 2008

I never quite understood "shit talking" amongst bands. I think that most of the time it has to do with jealousy or something totally unrelated to music. The reason I say that is because there is absolutely no reason one group of musicians would hear another band, think they are terrible, and feel compelled to let them know their opinion. It just doesn't make sense. I feel like the reason people "talk shit" at all is because they feel threatened, and if you think your music is better and therefore feel no threat, what would be the reason to say anything to the other band at all? Now if some kids from another band are crushin' on a few girls you hang out with, they instantly realize how shitty your band is and are instantly ready to "throw down". Its comical to hear what these kids have to say, because they aren't fooling anyone with their motives, its too obvious. In better news, this week our radio campaign with Team Clermont began. The following is a list of all the stations that will be adding "Lengths and Limits" to their library. If you live near any of these stations, please call or email asking them to play the record!

Our sadistic band played a show last night in Hoboken, NJ at Maxwell's. Probably the best part of the show was our dinner, which we picked from the band menu, it was pretty bad ass. We all love Hoboken and Maxwell's is a cool place. We played with some new bands as well, Stereo Stereo and America's Sweethearts. America's Sweethearts were so awesome and really great people, we had a really fun time with them. Dan's birthday is on Tuesday, send him some wishes to our myspace!

So we're doing a radio campaign with Team Clermont, songs from our new record will be playing on over 350 commercial and college radio stations in the U.S. and Canada. It took fooooooooorever to get all the Cd's packaged to send out, we had to take the cellophane off each one and put the hype stickers on the front. A hype sticker just lets the person know which songs to play and when and some other nonsense. The picture below will give you an idea of how many we actually sent out, I definitely underestimated just how much 360 really is. Be sure to request our songs if you have a college radio station near you, they likely will be getting a copy of the album soon. Two more shows to go for the winter, then we are going to be cooking up plans for a summer tour, hopefully something bigger than we've ever done.

Sunday, January 13, 2008

The show last night at Mainstage was a good time, thanks to all of our family and friends who came out! It felt weird to see them so quickly, but we had a lot of fun playing. We have really enjoyed our set with these new songs, I think people seem to like them also. I think we all wish we could just keep playing throughout the spring, but its tough with school and other stuff to do. We're gonna try to play as much as possible leading up to another tour this summer. I have a bunch of pictures from the house show on Friday and last night. Thanks to Gianna and Tiffany for sending them to us!

P.S. If you click the photos you can see the entire photobucket albums

Saturday, January 12, 2008

Last night we played at our pal Ian's party in his basement. It was so hot down there and loud, but we had a good time. Tonight were playing in North Jersey at The Mainstage Club in Pompton Lakes, NJ. Some family and friends are coming out so it will hopefully be a fun time. Come see us we only have a few shows left this winter! Here's a picture from the choas that was last night's show:

Joe is sick. We had to cancel a few dates in North Carolina, so sorry to everyone who was looking forward to coming out. We should be back down there very soon though, don't forget about us! The show at The Luna Bean was fun, we made a bunch of new friends in Conditions and Asleep At The Bottom Of The Sea. They are all awesome people and they make great music as well. Hopefully we'll be able to do more shows together soon. We have some more dates coming up this month around the area staring with Wednesday in NYC. If you can make it please come, we are having a lot of fun and really enjoy playing our new record for everyone. I have a few other pictures from the weekend so here they are. Sorry again to anyone who was planning on seeing us in North Carolina, we wanted to make sure Joe was all rested up for the long run! See you soon hopefully!

Winter Shows

We are in a Holiday Inn Express In Lynchburg, VA right now, and I must say, this one can't hold a candle to the one in Louisville, but overall they continue to impress me. We played at the Drowsy Poet tonight in Lynchburg, VA and the show was pretty cool. Supposedly during the summer they do outdoor shows which are really big and look like they would be a lot of fun, but it was so cold that we played inside. I seriously think that today is the coldest I have been in a really really long time. We don't have any pictures of us, because we had no one to take them, but here are some pictures of the trip and other stuff. We have a lot more dates coming up this month, check our myspace to find out when and where they are. Bye!
